In this post, I am going to give some tips for setting up Amphony’s Model 1600 wireless speaker kit. Following these tips will ensure that your setup will go smoothly and that you won’t damage your equipment.
Since the wireless receivers have power decoupling capactors inside, it is very important that when you connect the supplied AC adapters (wallwarts) with the wireless receiver to first connect the wallwart with the receiver before plugging the wallwart into a mains outlet. If you don’t follow this advice then chances are that there will be sparks due to the rush-in current. This is a fairly common phenomenon with most power supplies.
After you have powered up both the transmitter and receiver, turn down the receiver volume control to minimum. Next, connect your audio source with the transmitter and your speakers with each receiver. After that, slowly increase the volume of each speaker. Don’t turn it all the way up yet. In order to get maximum dynamic range, be sure to adjust the transmitter volume such that you get maximum liudness at the speakers without any distortion. This step is fairly important. Next, regulate the speaker volume to the required setting. Ensure that the volume of your rear speakers is balanced with the volume of your other speakers. Test this from the position where you will be watching TV.
