Whenever you spend a good amount of money on some product, you want to make sure that it will last a good time. Nothing is worse than your favorite toy breaking the day just after the warranty has expired. To avoid this kind of unpleasant surprise, you have a few options. In this post I will explain some of these options.
The first option is to purchase an extended warranty plan for your wireless speakers. This type of warranty is sold either by the speaker vendor or by the store from whom you are purchasing the speakers. Note that whoever you are purchasing the warranty from is responsible for the repair cost. So if you do not think that your local retailer will be around much longer then you are better off getting this warranty from the manufacturer instead.
Also, when considering whether to purchase an extended warranty plan, keep in mind that some products will last a long time while others will break more easily. You probably won’t need an extended warranty for a computer mainboard. If the board breaks you are probably better off getting a new board anyway which is much faster than the old board. Also, some manufacturers already offer several years of warranty. In this case there is not much point getting an extended warranty anyway.
Aside from getting proper warranty coverage, the next method is taking good care of your speakers. The first step in taking good care is to choose a good location. The spot should be stable and protected from rain and wind. Also, make sure that there are no cables hanging around which are attached to the speaker. Loose cables can cause somebody to trip over them and then pull your speaker to the ground.
Next, never abuse your speakers by running them at excessive volume. Excessive volume can not only damage your hearing but also is very abusive to the drivers inside the speaker. It can also affect the internal power amplifier.
