There are many wireless speakers on the market. Just this week at the CES in Las Vegas, a number of new speakers have been launched by several manufacturers.
However, with the increasing number of available models, it is becoming harder and harder to pick the best model. In this post I will offer some guidance for choosing the perfect type of speaker.
The best way to purchase some speakers is to visit your local retailer and give them a test. I would not recommend visiting a big box store though. They may have lower prices than you local audio retailer but you hardly will have a chance to give the speakers a try. It is important to spend a few minutes to listen to each model which you are considering. It is best to bring your own MP3 with you which you have listened to over some high-end speakers.
Wireless speakers usually cannot match the sound quality of some decent high-end speakers. Therefore by listening to some really good speakers beforehand, you can get a feel of how much you’ll need to sacrifice in terms of sound quality with each model. However, don’t forget that cordless model offer unprecedented convenience and flexibility.
You won’t have to run long speaker cord throughout your house anymore. Also, you can set up speakers temporarily, such as when you have guests over. Once your party is over you can simply dismantle your speakers without having to rip out lengthy speaker cords.
In addition, some models can run off batteries. A battery feature is ideal for situations where you don’t have mains power. Those situations may be outdoors or when you are camping away from your house. When buying a speaker that is to be used outdoors, keep in mind that the speaker should be plenty rugged and waterproof in case of a rain shower.
